A predictive study of students’ social presence and their interconnectivities in the social network interaction of online discussion board

Effective online interaction is beyond interacting with whomever. The quality of social interconnectivity matters. Social presence plays a vital role in building an effective learning community. This study empirically examined: how will predict various aspects students’ interconnectivities (i.e., in-degree, out-degree, betweenness centrality, closeness eigenvector reciprocated vertex pair ratio, & PageRank) the network discussion board within course? predictive utility for all was supported, but so-called two-way not. serves as strong predictor and interconnectivity. Learners higher are more likely to play distinguished roles influencer, liaison, transmitter, strategist, prestigious figure community learners. findings would support instructors facilitate, guide, their students navigate through convoluted effectively continuously.
